BounceCurl Light Creme Gel Review 2017

I remember when I first came across BounceCurl on instagram, and wasn't sure if they were a genuine brand. There feed had lots of pictures of different curl types, looking absolutely flawless and I remember thinking "This looks too good to be true".Nearly 1year later from making my first purchase, I'm so glad that I came across there light creme gel.BounceCurl have grown as a business by a lot since I first purchased from them in 2016, and I wanted to do a updated thorough review on this brand, to help those that are maybe buying for the first time or want to know more about the new formula.I also just want to mention quickly, if you're new here, that my reviews are 100% my own honest opinion and this is not sponsored/advertisement.Also welcome to my blog and I hope this post helps you with any questions that you have.

To start off, I wanted to provide two images of my hair back in 2016, to show the curl pattern differences and what this product did for me.The first picture is when I used BounceCurl for the first time and the second picture is 1month later:
I first reviewed this product back in March 2016, and I was really surprised by the results. My curls had more definition than any other product that I used on its own, and the shrinkage was reduced by a lot.A month later, I was still happily using BounceCurl, because it added so many great benefits, but I will go into this in the next paragraph, as these photo's were taken with the old formula.During this time, BounceCurl had completely sold out of bottles, and because they/I only had the 8oz size(238ml), I had to use it sparingly. My hair was still happy with using just a small amount, but I did need that little bit extra because I love me some definition!

BounceCurl ended up going out of stock for ages, and I wondered if they ever would return with there product.BounceCurl eventually restocked, and not only had they introduced 12oz bottles with new products added to there range, the formula was changed too.I'm not going to lie, I was seriously on panic mode, because I was like "what if my hair doesn't like it?" or "Why did they change the formula when it was practically perfect?" Ok so I might of over exaggerated on this, but if you have curly hair, then you know the struggle is real!At the same time, I had complete faith in the creator too, because she would always give everyone updates, let everyone know what was going on and what her customers thought.I ended up leaving it too long and they went out of stock again, but after seeing raving reviews on the new formula, I had to purchase a 12oz bottle once they came back into stock.Whats a really great benefit now, is that if you're in the UK, you can order BounceCurl from Beauty By Zara.Back then I had to order from BounceCurl directly, and although I didn't have an issue with the courier, it was the custom charges that had me like "urgh"
This was photo was taken the same day that it was delivered (August 2016) and that I had used BounceCurls new formulated light creme gel for the first time.I was so over the moon with it and was so shocked on how amazing the new formula worked for me.There are a lot of benefits of this product and below I've provided a list of them:
  • Does NOT contain Parabens, Mineral Oils, PEG's, Synthetic Dyes, Sulfates and Silcones
  • Is NOT tested on animals
  • Contains Black Seed Oil
  • Contains Jojoba Oil
  • Contains Aloe
  • Contains Panax Ginseng Root Extract
  • The product won't weight your hair down and will allow you to create volume
My hair loved the first formula, but loved this one even more as its a mixture of a gel and cream. This made it a lot more easier for myself and other curlies to apply to the hair, without having that sticky feeling afterwards. The added ingriedents of Jojoba Oil, Black Seed Oil, Aloe and Panax Ginseng Root Extract, are all perfect to make your hair healthy and to restore any lost moisture. It also strengthens the hair and believe me, my hair used to be so damaged and brittle.

Here is a photo of the two very different formulas, so you can get a better understanding of what I meant earlier:
I used to use this product alongside my Aussie Leave In Conditioner, but since then I've found other products that work with BounceCurl better.I now either use it on its own for Day 4+ hair or alongside the Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker for extra definition and to hold up a perfect bun.It works with certain shampoo's and conditioners, but this is just down to trial and error.I've found for me personally, thats its worked great with everything that I've used, but my favourite is the recently discovered L'Oréal Curl Nourishment range (review here) which is shown in the first picture below.
And my favourite styled hair using Bounce Curl, alongisde Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker:
My hair has changed a lot thanks to this product, and by reading (or scrolling) you can see on how much my curl pattern has changed. Its more healthy, my hair no longer breaks from just doing a simple task like finger detangling, its more nourished and I get a lot of definition.Out of all of the curly hair products that I've purchased or have been sent to be for review, this is 100% my favourite one.Its not just the product itself that makes it amazing, but its also the team behind BounceCurl and also the lovely lady that created this product.I've seen it myself that it works for all different hair types and ethnicities, which is just so amazing to see.I know it sounds like I'm going a bit over the top with it, but when you have found your perfect curly hair product, how can you not be this happy?I hope this post has removed any doubts and answered your questions, but if it hasn't, please feel free to leave a comment below or contact me on any of my social media channels.I'll soon be trying out the BounceCurl vitamins since leaving another brand, so I'll update this post with a new link once the post is available :)  More information can be found on BounceCurl here and can be purchased in the UK from Beauty By Zara💕💕
💕Massive love for BounceCurl💕

Bounce Curl is back & New formula review

After waiting 5months for my favourite curl gel to come back in stock, it finally arrived in the post this morning.Myself and my hair have missed this so much, its so nice to be reunited.Back in March this year I came across Bounce Curl on Instagram, and after doing some thorough research on the brand, I decided to give it a go.My first experience with using there gel was fantastic (old formula review here), so I knew I had to get my hands on another bottle.Unfortunately I left it too long and they ended up selling out entirely, however the wait was 100% worth it.
The creator of Bounce Curl (Mismmo) has since then been working her butt off on finding a balance of achieving moisture and hold for all curl textures. The first formula worked great for me and my curls, but guess what?SHE HAS DONE IT!Although I was in love with the first formula, it had more of a gel texture, which sometimes could leave my hair a little bit sticky depending on its mood that day (like shrinkage for example). This new formula is more of a mixture of gel and cream, making it a lot more easier to apply to the hair, followed by the scrunching method without the sticky and crispness feeling. It does work great on its own and I do this on days where I like a little definition and moisture.Bounce Curl has recommendations on how to use this product, depending on how thin or thick your hair is, which in my case, I use the method for my thick hair.I've found the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave In works great with this, and I have only purchased it recently to try it on its own.
Its great to see that Bounce Curl is still free of parabens, sulfates, and silicones, which my curls absolutely love as there is zero build up.Jojoba Oil and Nigella Sativa (black seed oil) have been added as well, which are both great for promoting hair growth, reducing hair loss, improving moisture and overall keeping your hair in good condition.

Another positive thing that Bounce Curl have added is bigger bottles. The original 8oz (238ml) that I have, lasted me a good 5months but thats by reserving it because I didn't want to run out. With the bigger 12oz (358ml), I feel like its going to last me at least 7-9months that I'm 100% ok with. The only negative I have, is the price of the shipping.I've provided the pricing of dollars converted to British pounds below.(Please note prices shown are at the time of this post as guidance)

Bounce Curl 8oz $17.99/£13.83 with standard shipping $23.66/£18.19  Total £32.02
Bounce Curl 12oz £24.99/£19.22 with standard shipping $23.66/£18.19 Total £37.41

I also had to pay custom fees which was £11.98, which I know is out of Bounce Curls hands, but I was very confused about this as UPS decided to hand the parcel over to Royal Mail as they couldn't deliver it themselves with no reason given.Again this is no fault to Bounce Curl, but its just a heads up just in case that you may have to pay for custom fees.Other than that, I'm very happy with the new formula of Bounce Curl and I highly recommend it for all curl types.Check out my Instagram for more Bounce Curl and other curly hair updates too :)

Kinky Curly & Bounce Curl First Impressions

These two beauties arrived together today, and because I'm not patient at all when it comes to hair products, I just had to try them both!I decided to use Kinky Curl Knot Today first, because my hair needed a real good detangle as it tends to get extra matted in the morning.Taking a 20p sized amount, I evenly distributed it throughout my hair, focusing mainly on the roots because thats where it gets tangled the most.I then took my trusty D31 Denman brush hoping for the best it would easily comb from the root, and oh my lord and saviour, it actually just went straight through with zero snagging.Being very impressed, I wanted to see how well it would work by finger detangling, and again I was so impressed on how easy the tangles just "melted" away.It also removed a lot of the dead hair that I had left that ended up tangling up with the knots, which has improved on how my hair now looks. As mentioned in most of the reviews, this stuff smells amazing and I couldn't stop smelling the bottle!Get 10% off on Kinky Curly Products with the code "KinkyC" at Antidote Street

Next up was Bounce Curl, and I'm so glad I've got my hands on it as its been on my "hair product" list for some time. Now at this stage my hair was just no longer damp, and its recommended that its applied to "Extremely Wet Hair".I still went ahead with my hair just slightly wet because I honestly couldn't wait to use it.Taking a 20p size (as I didn't want to go ott), I evenly applied it to my hair, mainly focusing on the ends to then use the scrunching method.I left my hair to air dry and my hair was (still is while writing this) so soft and my curls were slightly defined, but I know 100% they could be fully more defined if I followed the steps correctly. However, even though I used the Kinky Curly before and my hair wasn't as wet as it should of been, it still done an amazing job and cannot wait to use Bounce Curl again tomorrow 100% correctly this time!I'll also post my results tomorrow (see below!) after using Bounce Curl too, but for now I'll link you to there Instagram so you can see how other curlies have got on.This product also smells amazing, and is now my favourite scented product that I've ever got my hands on!Bounce Curl can be purchased here.Full review of both of these products will be posted very soon! :)

UPDATE 31st March:
As promised these are the results I got from  Bounce Curl, following the directions correctly and I'm so happy with the results. This is a picture of my hair just over an hour and has zero shrinkage, just look at that!Below I've provided the step by step of this and anything that I may of added to achieve these curls :)

Step 1: Ensure that your hair is extremely wet and has minimal tangles to ensure the hair will be more defined.

Step 2: Apply Bounce Curl in sections, making sure you evenly distribute it throughout the hair, whilst also doing the "scrunching" method to help define and separate those curls!

Step 3: I normally air dry my hair, but I wanted to see how well this worked with a Diffuser, so taking my Remington Protect Hair Dryer, I Diffused sections of my hair, whilst doing the scrunching method, holding it there for 3-5seconds, and flipping over my hair to get some extra volume too.

Step 4: I sprayed two pumps of Kérastase Discipline Fludissime into my hands, rubbed them together and applied it to my hair where its common for me to get some frizz while the rest of my hair is still drying.

Step 5: To get that little bit of extra volume, I took my afro pick and used it at the roots in an upward (fringe) and outward motion, so my hair had some extra volume and bounce to it.

That was all the steps that I took to achieve these results and I'm so happy that I purchased this gel.I will be doing a full review on this product which will be posted in 3weeks, as I need to spend more time with this product to give you a full and honest review, but with it working fantastically so far, I really have no doubts about this product at all. Video Review now up :)
