Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation: Tres Leches (320G)

Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation is finally here on my blog and I'm so excited to talk about it.I'm sure many of you are trying to figure out your shade and to see if its worth the £32 price tag.I will try to answer as many questions on this post as possible to help you, but if I do miss anything, please let me know in the comment section and I'll add it to the post :)

I'm going to start packaging first as I know there is a little bit of confusion with it.Although it gives off a glass look, it is in fact plastic.I'm pretty fussy when it comes to foundation packaging and when I saw reviews of people complaining of it feeling like a cheap plastic, I was a little worried. In my opinion, I don't think it feels like a cheap plastic at all, and I'm glad Huda decided to choose this over glass, because their is nothing more devastating than seeing someone drop a glass foundation bottle to see it smash. Its like dropping food!I hope that clears things up on the packaging.

The first thing I had to do, was to completely guess my foundation shade, by finding my undertone with the corresponding shade on the chart.I'm not going to lie, I've never been so stressed in my life all over a foundation shade, but thanks to Huda and her beauty team, they created this chart to help us.I've provided the list for this shade on this post (which is owned by Huda not me) and to see the full list og the other shades, please click here
It was still quite hard for me to figure out my shade, because the majority of them I don't own or they are listed in a lighter or darker shade to me, so I had to use that as guidance. The shade Butter Pecan (330N) threw me off a little, because the NARS foundation Punjab alongside that one is extremely light, whereas I'm the shade Stromboli by NARS which is 3shades darker than Punjab, yet Tres Leches (320G) is above it on the chart.Pretty confusing right? The shade Latte (300N) also has one of my brands with the same shade, which is Kat Von D Medium 54, which is fairly light for me, even during autumn/winter time so I felt that Amaretti (310G) wouldn't be enough still.

Below I've swatched Tres Leches alongside my other foundation shades I use with other brands:
Huda's Tres Leches and NARS Stromboli are nearly identical to each other. What I've noticed with this foundation, is that after you apply it onto your skin, not only does it start to dry very quickly but it also starts to oxidise a little but not orange, just a little darker after a couple of minutes. Its more on the golden side compared to the NARS foundation which is perfect for me.

The formula is mixture of it being thick and liquidy, but not too liquidy where it runs down your hand.Huda recommended using just half to one pump for the whole face, which I personally thought would not work, as I don't have the smallest forehead. The foundation came with a sample of Huda's Complexion Perfection, which is a primer that can be used alongside this foundation.I decided to test it out, just to see if it made a difference when applying the foundation.
I took these snapshots from the first impressions review video that I posted on the 14th.The first image is me feeling my face after applying the primer. It made my face feel plump and supple, not leaving my face feeling sticky at all.You can also see I have quite a lot of acne going on at the moment on my forehead and chin, compared to my usual clear skin.I tend to get dry patches around the mouth during autumn/winter, with it being autumn right now in the UK.I felt this would be the perfect test for those that have skin problems. You can find my video on this foundation by clicking here
This is what my makeup looked like after applying half a pump for my whole face and it really does look like my skin has a filter on it.To apply this foundation, I used my Zoeva 104 Buffer Brush, which I swear by when it comes to liquid foundations.I didn't want to go for a full makeup look as I didn't want to take away the attention from the foundation, so I just applied some concealer under my eyes, mascara, liquid matte lipstick and some highlighter. This foundation is also scented, like it honestly smells really good.I did have a look at the ingredients to try and see what it could be, but its just listed as Parfum/Fragrance.

Huda recommends applying powder under the eyes and laugh lines so the foundation doesn't budge or crease, but I didn't do this as I already finished filming the video. The spot to your left on my cheek, I wasn't expecting the foundation to cover it completely as it was a fresh spot that was extremely bumpy, however it completely removed the redness surrounding it.

Later that night I decided to get some pictures of how my makeup looked after 8-9hours after applying. Each shot was photobombed by Louie and this was taken with the flash on.This is the only one that came out without his head in the way:

Mascara: L'Oréal Paradise
Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape In Medium
Lips: Beauty Bakerie Cranberry Stiletto Lip Whip
Highlight: Huda Beauty 3D Pink Sands Edition In Azores

My skin stayed flawless the whole day and that was even without applying a setting powder.Nothing budged or transferred and it just looks like I've got a smooth filter across my face.It didn't crease into anything, no clinging to dry patches, nothing. To remove this foundation, I recommend using the Nivea Double Eye Effect Makeup Remover, as this removes the toughest of makeup products without it dragging it all across your face.It only costs £3.59 (£1.75 when on offer) from Superdrug and you don't even need that much to remove it all.

I honestly believe this foundation is well worth the £32 price tag, considering I've paid around the same or more for other brands that don't leave my face looking this good.If you can, I would highly recommend going in-store and trying the shades out, as this shade did oxidise slightly so I can't comment for the other shades. These can be purchased from the following authorised retailers in the UK:

Beauty Bakerie Makeup Treats: Flour Setting Powder & Lip Whips

Beauty Bakerie is a brand that I instantly fell in love with earlier this year and I'm so happy to write up this blog post talking about them.I'm a massive fan of liquid lipsticks with a matte finish, so after trying my first one (royal tea), I ended up purchasing another one the next day and its now my go to red lipstick.I'm also a full supporter when a company is black owned and even more when they have a backstory.Cashmere Nicole who is the CEO and founder of Beauty Bakerie, is an absolute inspiration and I've never known someone who carries themselves so well, whilst also taking the time out for her customers at the same time.Check her out on Beauty Bakeries Youtube, you'll fall in love with her too!

Ok, so I have quite a lot of liquid lipsticks (borderline addict?), mainly because I love to see which ones actually LAST.I remember seeing a video of the lip whip swatches on an arm, with someone running water over them.No budging. No Smearing.NO NOTHING.It was literally staying intact. At this point I was like "no way", so of course that was my excuse/reason to purchase one and to also do my own water test as well (see below)

Royal Tea (royalty get it?) was the first one that I purchased and this lip whip is metallic.I would describe it as a gorgeous berry shade, that leaves a lovely metallic finish.I'm usually not keen on metallic liquid lipsticks, mainly because I find that they transfer all over the place and leave my lips dry, but this one does not do that.It does last a very long time, without it moving around anywhere, but I have to say that I feel the normal matte lip whips last longer in my opinion.I think this is a common thing when it comes to liquid lipsticks, that metallics don't last as long, but I have no issue about this at all because this metallic shade formula lasts for a very long time. You only need to apply two coats worth to get the true shade of whats advertised on the model or the tube.Speaking of which, the packaging these come in are so cute, they remind me of little swirly candy canes. They do come in pretty boxed packaging too, which I think they all differ as I've received a white one and a reflective rainbow one.I'll get onto how these lip whips apply in the next section
Next is not only my favourite shade but also my favourite lip whip out of my collection, which is Cranberry Stiletto!I've honestly lost count of how many red shade lip products I have, but I was never able to find the right shade and it lasting for the whole day.I ordered this shade the next day after getting Royal Tea, because this shade had just come back in stock so I grabbed it super fast and put it on next day delivery as I couldn't wait. This shade is my perfect red to me, because it has no orange tint to it, just a little bit of blue, but still gives off that perfect red look. For this shade I only needed one coating to get the desired red that I wanted.

The foam doe foot applicator is really easy to work with and I normally struggle when it comes to apply liquid lipsticks or any type of lipsticks for that matter. It doesn't soak up too much product and the foam is so flexible that helps you get to those corner spots of your mouth without making a mess.I know its not 100% accurate on my mouth because I'm still trying to get it right, but these do make it so much easier for me.

The food and drink test is always something people want to know about when it comes to liquid lipsticks. When it comes to most brands they just straight up say "oh you can eat and drink whatever and it will still be intact".Beauty Bakerie have been very open and honest to say that these lip whips don't work well with oily based foods (or drinks for that matter), because it breaks the formula down.Although they made it pretty obvious about this, thats not going to stop me from trying right?

I tried it with some very greasy yet oily chips from a takeaway first and that was actually the last chip from the box.The only difference you can see from that image and the one above of me holding the lip whip, is that the colour had faded only a little bit and it wasn't looking fully matte no more. The second one I decided to try it with pizza, which I actually had for breakfast on a sunday, so it wasn't too oily.I'm not too sure if its obvious in that photo because of my cheeks, but I actually have two mouthfuls of pizza in my mouth whilst smiling.None of it faded and it still left a matte finish on my lips.I've also tried it with fizzy drinks, McDonald's (below), Starbucks and many other foods, and it did NOT budge, so Beauty Bakerie are very true to when they say about there long lasting lip whips.
You can purchase them from any of the retailers that I've listed below, or you can find them at the end of this blog post to save you from scrolling all the way back up.I also recommend checking out Beauty Bakeries website directly as many of there new products are released there first before arriving in the UK.Prices for these lip whips start at £16

I've been saving this makeup product until last, because I have so much to say about it.If you've been following me social media for a while, I was looking everywhere for a powder that not only set my makeup, but actually matched my skintone as well.I was using another brand for a while, but it began to crease after a few hours. When Beauty Bakerie announced about releasing powders, I was straight on it, to then struggle on which shade to get.I left it far too long to the point where they sold out everywhere and I couldn't pick up the one I wanted.Beauty Bakerie were then very kind enough to send me a powder in exchange for my thoughts and review.

The packaging first is by far the cutest thing that I've ever seen, as it comes in a cute little pouch, hence the name "flour" setting powder.I did show it in the first picture of this post, but below I've provided another image of when it arrived in the delivery box, as it was just too adorable to not get a picture of it straight away.
I got the yellow powder, which is perfect for my skintone and also brightens the under eyes for me as well. After applying concealer to my under eyes with a beauty blender, I take a triangle shaped sponge and apply the powder.I prefer to use the triangle sponge instead of the other beauty blender that I have, mainly because the edges of the triangle sponge make it more easy to apply directly underneath the eye.Leaving that to set, I normally apply a lipstick and touch up my eyebrows a little bit before getting a brush to sweep away the powder. It literally leaves your skin feeling and looking incredibly smooth, also brightening the under eyes making your eyes pop!I do suffer from extreme dark circles on days where my anxiety is really bad and I've gotten zero sleep because of it, but this powder really does help make them panda eyes vanish.Below is a photo of my "natural look" makeup with the powder set underneath my eyes.No editing or filters were applied to this photo, its all natural lighting.
I can wear this powder all day, even in this crazy UK weather heat that we currently have and my makeup still stays in place.I would say it starts to crease around 17-18hours after applying and yes I've tested this because I literally do not sleep because of my insomnia.I would of taken a picture of this, but I don't think thats a picture the internet needs to see. This powder is retailed for £19.50 within the UK which to be honest I think is ridiculously cheap (like the lip whips) for the product quality, the application, the duration and the unique formula, so you're getting amazing deals on there products.

Lastly all Beauty Bakerie products are cruelty free, however not all of there products are vegan.I've listed the below of what is and isn't vegan free, at the time of this post, but please check on there website (below) to see an updated list:

Vegan free:
All Matte Lip Whips, GELatos, Sugar Lip Scrub and Lip Whip Remover.

Not vegan free:
Neapolitan EyesCream Palette, Pancake EyesCream, Auburn BROWnies, Waffle Cone Metallic Matte Lip Whip and Pink Flour Setting Powder

Makeup Revolution Renaissance Day & Night Palettes

Makeup Revolution are a well known brand when it comes to providing outstanding products for such an affordable price.Scrolling through my Instagram feed a couple of days ago, these two palettes popped up on my news feed, and I purchased them both within 5minutes with next day delivery. It wasn't just the beautiful shades that caught my attention, but it was also the beautiful packaging that they come in that made me really want to buy them. Both palettes come in sleek boxes, with a pretty lace pattern along the outside.
I had to blow up these pictures so you could see on how beautiful the packaging is.The small clutch design is perfect to carry in your bag if you want to touch up that eye makeup or some of the shades can be used as a highlighter, especially in the night palette. They also both come in velvet pouches corresponding to the clutch shade, just in case you want that extra protection and to keep it clean. The pigmentation of both are very intense (as shown below), however 2 of the first shades from the day palette need to be swatched at least 3-4 times until they show up properly.
I love both these palettes, but the night palette is my favourite. You can use the first two shades from the night palette as highlighters if you wanted too, as well as eyeshadows. The brushes that come included pick up the product very well, but I personally prefer to use my fingers or my Morphe brush when it comes to applying and blending.I swatched both palettes with my finger and swiped only once, apart from the first two shades from the day palette that had to be swiped 3-4times.Both of these just retail for £8 each, £8!I'm so glad that I picked these up and highly recommend anyone that loves ditsy little packaging with intense pigmentation, should pick these up!The links to purchase them are provided below:

Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick: Crimson

When Urban Decay announced the release of there Vice Liquid Lipsticks, I knew that I had to get at least one before they all sold out.I haven't had the best experience with there lip products in the past, because I would always get a shade that was patchy or that would bleed everywhere (apart from Bad Blood because that shade is bomb!).All of the shades that I really wanted were sold out and was left with Crimson, so I thought "why not?" and took advantage of there free gift wrap too.It came in a vibrant purple box, and I felt somewhat guilty (and stupid) of the thought of someone gift wrapping my order that contained just one lipstick and a sample.I've been tempted to order more products just to get more boxes...
The shade I decided to get was Crimson, which is a red shade with blue undertones, with this one being a matte finish. Its also described as a waterproof long-lasting liquid lipstick and for it retailing at £15.50 each, I had high expectations.Urban Decay always have packaging that I love to keep (box wise) and I really love the chrome packaging that they decided to do with this range.I've also done a scratch test with my nails on the "VICE LIQUID LIPSTICK" writing and it hasn't chipped at all, so its a product that will look presentable on my dressing table.
When I took the wand out, I was like "Uh oh" because I absolutely suck at applying with wands and the formula looked incredibly thick to work with.It doesn't really have a scent, unless you sit there and seriously take in a big whiff of it like I just did, and it doesn't smell bad.The formula is quite thick, and I had to dab some of the product back into the tube, because I didn't want to waste anything.I was actually very surprised on how easy it was to apply, as I had so many doubts that it was going to transfer everywhere like there previous products that I've owned. It glides onto the lips like a cream and it reminded me of the Tarte Lip Paint formula as well which is one of my favourite lip products. It dries very quickly on the lips and did not leave my lips dry, but instead really soft...
I didn't use any lip base, primer, oil, moisturiser or anything, yet it left my lips incredibaly soft...clearly they're using magic

I wanted to get two pictures of the shade in two different types of natural lighting, with the first one being all gloomy and cloudy, and the second where it brightened up a bit.I've had it on for a total of 7hours, and I've eaten nuggets, greasy chips, drank fizz, drank juice, licked my lips because of my anxiety and it still hasn't bled anywhere. Its only starting to come off around the inner corners of my mouth, but this is only noticeable if I were to yawn for example. It doesn't transfer after about a minute of drying and is only easy to get off with using a makeup remover. My favourite to remove this and any other products is the Nivea Double Eye Makeup Remover which takes the product away with just two swipes.Below I've provided of Crimson compared to Tartes Lip Paint in the shade Bae.The second image shows me swiping two fingers through the swatches, with Crimson not budging at all.
I'll hold my hands up and say that I'm very surprised on how good this liquid lipstick turned out to be.This might of been due to the bad experiences I've had with Urban Decay in the past, but I still wanted to give them a go and to let you guys know of course my thoughts on it.I don't have anything negative to say about this shade in particular, but I'm intrigued on trying the other shades to see how well they do too.At the time of this post, they're currently only available at Urban Decay, but will soon be rolling out at Debenhams online and in-store.I'm really glad that I didn't waste my money on this and will be purchasing more, once they restock the shades that I'm after.Watch this space for future shade updates

L'ORÉAL True Match Highlight Vs Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops Illuminator

I know I wasn't supposed to be blogging until 2017, but I really couldn't help myself and I think this will be super helpful for those that are maybe thinking of getting a new highlighter with that Christmas money.Speaking of Christmas, I hope you all had a lovely day and if you don't celebrate it, I hope you're enjoying the holidays :) Anyway, so I wanted to do a review on both of these products because the colour of them are very similar and would be a good dupe too.Whilst the Cover FX is worth every penny, its also very hard to get hold of in the UK, and if you're worried on how the shade will look on you, going for the cheaper alternative by L'Oréal might be a good idea.I'm going to show you some swatches of them first, then go into detail of the differences between them and application. Both of these products were purchased by myself.
The top shade by L'Oréal is called Icy Glow and the Cover FX is Celestial. There wasn't much of a description about the shade of icy glow, however celestials shade is described as glistening pearl. Both of them have a little hint of pink in them, but the silver shine that it gives off mostly counters it out.Icy glow has a little bit of a scent thats nice but doesn't last too long, whereas celestial doesn't have a scent at all.Even though there is quite a price difference between the two, with L'Oréal ranging between £4.99-£6.99 and Cover FX between £28.99-£34.99, there are a lot of pro's and cons, depending on what you're looking for.
The packaging of them both are completely different and with Icy Glow you get 30ml worth of product. It can be used as a primer and can be mixed in with your foundation to give your skin a radiant complexion.I've trialled it with three different foundations: NARS Luminious Weightless Foundation, Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation and L'Oréal True Match foundation.Using it as a primer or to mix it in with your foundation didn't have much of an effect with the NARS and Kat foundation, but it worked great with True Match which was expected. It could be down to the formula for it to be working with the True Match as they're part of the same range.

The application is pretty easy, as the small pierced hole on the end makes it really easy to get the product out and to not waste any product either. You have to squeeze the bottle with only a little bit of pressure to get it out and you can either apply it directly to the face or put it on the back of your hand and apply with your fingers.I prefer to use the finger method as I don't want the highlight to be too intense for my skin tone and it can be easily blended out using my fingers without it leaving them sticky. The texture comes out like a cream but as soon as you start blending it into the skin it turns into a liquid. It gives off more of a matte finish and lasts approximately 5-6hours, which isn't bad for a £6.99 highlighter.

The packaging of this highlighter is still very pretty, however you get 15ml worth of product, compared to the 30ml by L'Oréal above. This can also be added to your primer or foundation, but also states it can be used along with a serum and moisturiser.I've only tried this as a highlighter on top of my foundation, because this highlight is SUPER intense and I think it would of left my face (or head) like below if I mixed it with my foundation or formula.
The application is surprisingly easy and I honestly thought that I would have a struggle with the applicator in general.I practiced before hand with it above the bottle, to stop myself from wasting any product, but it doesn't seem to drip at all.Where the lid goes, it can get a little bit messy, especially when you take the applicator out every time and its all left on the outside of the bottle, but it can easily be put back in or can be used to apply on the face.I like using both methods of putting it on the back of my hand (habit) or applying 3 small dots to the face to then blend out using my fingers. You literally only need a small drop for this highlighter to go a long way, because it is one of the most intense highlighters I have ever used and the pigmentation is amazing.I like to use it mainly on my collarbone if I'm going for an intense look and also my cupids bow or brow bone to highlight them features. The texture is more thick but is really easy to blend like I said with my fingers and it gives off more of a dewy finish. It lasted approximately 7-8hours for being INTENSE, but around 11-12hours it started to completely fade.
Out of the two, I personally favour the Cover FX one, because of how intense it is.I also love that its Paraben, Mineral Oil, Gluten free too.I also forgot to mention that icy glow tends to get patchy after the 6+ hours (depending on how much you apply) compared to celestial that just gradually begins to fade.Although its quite pricy, I would highly recommend the enhancer drops out of the two and think its 100% worth the price.By trying to get icy glow as intense as celestial, I would have to use a lot of product  and saying that I have about 60%-70% remaining of it, where as I have about 97-98% remaining of celestial.I've provided links to where you can get them from, with the sites that regularly have deals on them
