Little Superdrug Hair & Makeup Haul

I know I said a few weeks ago that I would stop ordering things from Superdrug and that I needed to slow down, but there was a SALE.Its like dangling a slice of pizza in front of me, I'm not going to say no to that!I did keep it limited though, as I only got 4 products, so thats an improvement right?I don't think I'm going to be able to resist because the sale is still ongoing and they have thousands of things on offer. In the meantime, lets see how got on with these goodies.
I want to start with the Maybelline Master Contour Stick first, as its recently been released over here in the UK.It wasn't something I was looking to purchase at first, as I was happy with my makeup revolution palette but I'm not 100% keen on powder based products. This contour stick is very creamy and is so easy to blend into the skin.I've used the beauty blender, Real Techniques Sculpting Brush, oval brush and my fingers to blend it in to see what I preferred. They all work very well when blending, but the Real Techniques Brush and beauty blender has to be my favourite. For the contour shade I use the brush, as its easier to blend on my cheekbones, whilst the beauty blender works great for blending in the highlighter. To get more product, you twist it at the bottom. The only negative I have, is that the shades mix together and you have to wipe it away, wasting some of the product. They offer two shades, Light and Medium (mine is medium) and retails for £6.99.
Next we have the Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette and again this was something I was not looking to purchase.I've never been a fan of eyeshadows, because I absolutely suck at applying it (all makeup in fact) and every time I tried too, it looked like a kid had drawn all over my eyes.I also own the sister palette to this one as well, so I knew the pigmentation was going to be great, it was just trying to apply it properly. You get 12 highly pigmented eyeshadows for £9.99 which in my opinion is a very good price. It also comes with a brush thats is very gentle on the skin and is perfect for the eye area.
Some of the shades I'm not too comfortable on wearing, because they're far to light for my skin tone, however they would probably come in handy for halloween. My favourite shades have to be the last two on both rows, as I love going for a dark smokey pink look. The pigmentation with this palette is my favourite compared to the sister one, as I found it was a lot more easy to blend together.I'm in love with the packaging they've done with this one too, more resembling a rose/pink gold case.I tried (I really tried) to go for a rose/pink gold eyeshadow look, finishing with Kiko Milano.I know it needs a lot of work and practice, but you have to start somewhere.
The Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo was 100% on my "to get" list and I'm so glad I got my hands on it.I purchased my mum the Dry Naked from their range a few weeks ago, and although it worked great on my hair, I personally couldn't stand the smell.Instead I decided to pick up the Limited Edition Party Refresh, as the scent was described as floral. Its actually crazy to of found a dry shampoo that actually works for curly hair and it makes things so much quicker when you're in a hurry.I normally apply this shampoo on the day I'm unable to do my usual wash day, so I'm given up to an extra 3days until I can wash my hair. Its literally just spray and brush, leaving your hair refreshed and soft.It can also be applied to day 4 hair when you just want to put it up in a bun and leave it as that for deep conditioning the next day.The scent is floral, lasting the whole day and isn't too overpowering in the slightest. All of there dry shampoos are always on offer for £1.48 (RRP £2.99) for a 180ml bottle, however its worth paying for the full price too.
Lastly I got my hands on the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance that I've been dying to get in ages. Its been a while since I purchased any Aussie products, mainly because I used to use them in my "hair damaged" days.My hair is now far from damaged, but I was looking for a leave in that worked with my favourite curl product Bounce Curl.Currently on offer for £2.23 (RRP £4.49) for a 250ml bottle, I snatched it up quick. If you've used Aussie before, you know their products are scented with that gorgeous bubblegum smell. Its infused with Jojoba Seed Oil that helps with detangling the hair whilst also protecting it.I mostly spray it on wet or dry hair, apply Bounce Curl and leave it to air dry.Its perfect for styling with buns too.Frizz is massively reduced, leaving my hair full of bouncy soft curls. At this stage, I'm sure I'll be purchasing more products soon from Superdrug as their sale is ridiculous.Hope you liked this review and let me know if you've tried any of the products mentioned.
